"The Institute of Computer Engineers (India)/ICEI" established in the year 1984, felt the pulsation of various fields to be educated in state-of-the-Art innovation- COMPUTER for successful exposure to challenging career opportunities in the corporate world and educational spheres to meet the challenge of the Twenty first century.
"ICEI" was established to be the leader in imparting industry-oriented quality computer education and training for all and to be the country's premier Institution for examination and certification in the field of Information Technology.
It has been felt by Govt. of India that private institutes imparting computer education have a significant role to play in meeting the demand of computer personnel; shortage of which at all levels, from Programmer Assistant to Systems Manager is acute and the shortfall cannot be met by the Govt. supported Institutes only. With a view to bridge the gap, DOE has taken up the scheme of Accreditation, popularly known as NIELIT, by which the effort of private institutes can be turned to an advantage by linking them to a system of examination to qualify their students for a certificate of proficiency, that could lead to a quality product of international standard.
